Q: Is there any quick guide for the HOMMA technology?

App

Q: How do I register as a WILLAMETTE TOWER Resident to start using the HOMMA App?

A: You will receive an invitation email and invitation code from the HOMMA Team. Once received, please click the link in the email and download the HOMMA App, or if you have already downloaded, create an account using the App. You can download the HOMMA App from this download page.

Q: How do I log out?

A: Please follow these steps.

  1. On the Home screen, tap the SETTING GEAR icon on top right, tap your name or your email address

  2. Tap ‘Log Out’

Q: How do I change my password for HOMMA App?

A: Please follow these steps.

  1. On the Home screen, tap the SETTING GEAR icon on top right, tap your name or your email address

  2. Tap ‘Change Password’

  3. Type in your current password, and then type in your new password in two fields

  4. Tap ‘Save’

Q: What is the ‘Morning’, ‘Day’, ‘Afternoon’, ‘Evening’, ‘Night’ shown below my unit number?

A: Those are the time ranges which relate to HOMMA Automation. During each time of day your lights will behave based on your home’s settings. Please reference the automation section for info on how to customize your home [Yuta, can you add a direct link to “To customize when the lights change as part of automation, please follow the steps below: ,” which is listed under automated adaptive lighting area?].

Q: What are the icons on the bottom?

A: Left is the Home Screen tab, middle is the Rooms tab, and the right is the Activities tab.

Q: What is the Rooms tab?

A: This is where you can change the settings of your lights and other devices for each room. The default behavior is setup by HOMMA, but you can edit and personalize depending on your preference(s). If you want to save your changes to your automation behavior you may do so by hitting the save button.

Q: What is the Activities tab?

A: Activities are how you set the mood of your home and the rooms within it for a period of time. This tab is where you can add, update and assign activities based on your preference. Activities may be turned on and off from the mobile app or the Control Pads within the home.

Front Door Smart Lock (ALFRED Smart Lock)

Q: How do I know my current PIN?

A: Open the HOMMA App, and please follow these steps.

  1. Tap the SETTING GEAR icon on top right

  2. Tap 'Door Lock' on the menu

  3. Tap ‘SHOW’ in either of the PINs

Q: How do I change my front door PIN?

A: Open the HOMMA App, and please follow these steps.

  1. Tap the SETTING GEAR icon on top right

  2. Tap 'Door Lock' on the menu

  3. Tap 'Change' on either Primary or Temporary,

  4. Enter the current PIN and new PIN on two fields, then tap ‘Save’ button

Q: How do I view my recent door activities?

A: Open the HOMMA App, and please follow these steps.

  1. Tap ‘Question mark’ icon on the Home screen

  2. Tap ‘Notifications’

Q: What is the difference between Primary PIN and Temporary PIN?

A: Primary PIN is meant to be used by residents, and Temporary PIN is to be by guests, so that you can frequently change the temporary PIN as much as you like, while keeping the Primary PIN unchanged (so you don’t need to worry about forgetting it!).

Q: Can I lock the door automatically? How?

A: Yes! Please follow these steps.

  1. Tap the SETTING GEAR icon on top right

  2. Tap 'Door Lock' on the menu

  3. Tap the pull down menu on ‘Auto Lock,’ and choose your preference of time that you would like the door to automatically lock after the door closes

Q: Why do I keep receiving the App notification saying ‘Front Door has been open’?

A: Because the system detected that your front door has not been locked for more than 10 minutes. It is encouraged to lock the front door whenever you are at home!

Q: What should I do if the door lock is not responding at all? Is it broken?

A: It is likely that the batteries in the lock are low or have run out. Please prepare a Phillips screwdriver and 4 AA batteries. It should turn up the lock, then type in the PIN code or unlock it from the HOMMA App.

Q: What if my phone battery dies? Will I be locked out?

A: No worries! You can still unlock the front door using your PIN. Even if your phone battery dies, the lock works independently.

Automated Adaptive Lighting

Q: What is Automated Adaptive Lighting?

A: This is HOMMA’s lighting controls system that is sensor-based and operates automatically throughout the day, adjusting light levels and color temperature (ranging from cool blue to warm orange tones) depending upon occupancy and time of day, among other factors – and all fully customizable. Your unit comes ready to work with our default automation settings.

Examples of automation in action are:

  1. Lights turn on when you enter a room and turn off after you exit

  2. Light color and brightness changes automatically depending on the time of the day.

Q: Do I have to turn ON/OFF the light?

A: No. The default setting is Automation ON all the time. Lights automatically turn on when you enter a room and turn off after you exit (after a certain amount of time).

Notes:

If you need to turn OFF the light, the easiest way is to do either one of below.

  1. HOMMA Control Pad on the wall: Press the ‘Off’ on the bottom left

  2. HOMMA App: Tap the ‘●’ icon (this filled circle means light ON) and it will turn to ○ (empty circle means lights OFF).

If you need to turn it back to Automation ON, please do either one of below.

  1. HOMMA Control Pad on the wall: Press the ‘Auto’ on the top right of the and confirm that it shows green line

  2. HOMMA App: Tap the icon with ‘orange line with circle arrow,’ it will turn to ‘green line’ which is Automation ON

Q: What about the Balcony light?

A: The Balcony light is special and not a part of the HOMMA automation system. It may be controlled via the traditional switch on the wall, or via the mobile app.

While you may include the light in your Activities, it will not automatically turn off when the activity concludes.

Q: How many minutes does it take to automatically turn OFF the light after leaving a room?

A: The light will turn off after 2-4 minutes depending on which room you were in.

Q: HOMMA App is having trouble connecting with my lights. What should I do?

A: We apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact HOMMA via the app (click “?” on the top right of the app and you will find “Submit Service Request” form) and report the situation. We will look into the issue and resolve it as soon as possible. If this is an emergency, such as NONE of the lights in your unit will turn on, please call Property Management Team (503) 841-5663.

Q: Can I adjust the color and brightness of my current lighting? How?

A: Yes! Please follow these steps.

  1. On the HOMMA App Home screen or Rooms tab (middle of 3 tabs at the bottom) > Select a room that you want to customize

  2. Adjust the light color via the 4 diamonds within the colored banner

  3. Adjust the light brightness with the appropriate slider

Notes:

  • If you would like to save your new settings to be a part of automation, press ‘SAVE’ to keep the change(s) and select which time ranges you would like to apply them to.

  • If you DON’T want to update automation, great, you’re done. The HOMMA system will return the room to automation after it has been vacant for 15 minutes, or you can return the home to automation yourself in the app or on your control pad.

Q: Is it possible to customize the lighting automation? How?

A: Yes! See below for what you can customize and how.

  1. To customize the color and brightness of the lights, please review the question above.

  2. To customize ‘when’ the lights change as part of automation, please follow the steps below:

    1. Tap the SETTING GEAR icon on top right of the home screen.

    2. Tap ‘Schedule Times’ on the menu

    3. Click the time-range you would like to change and update the time to your preference.

Q: Is it possible to turn OFF the light completely, for example, when you go to bed at night?

A: Yes! All you have to do is to do either one of below.

  1. HOMMA Control Pad on the wall: Press the ‘Off’ on the bottom left

  2. HOMMA App: Tap the ‘●’ icon (this filled circle means light ON) and it will turn to ○ (empty circle means lights OFF).

Notes: This will turn OFF all of your lights and disable the sensors until 8am at which point the lights for the room will return to automation. If you would like to customize when the lights return to automation, go to Settings > ‘Schedule Times’ and update “Room lights turn off until” to your desired time.

Q: Why are the lights turning off while I am in the room?

A: HOMMA sensors operate based on motion, and if you stay still for a sustained period of time there is a chance the room lights will turn off. To prevent this from happening we recommend you use an activity if you plan to be stationary, such as working or watching TV. Activities may be enabled from your Control Pad or your mobile app. To learn more check out the "Activity" section of the Quick Guide.

Activity

Q: What is Activity and how does it work?

A: Activity is how you set the mood of your home when you want something specific for a period of time. Below are some examples that HOMMA has created as a default.

  • Relax - defined to change the light color to warm and dim the brightness to give you a warm relaxing feel for reading a book or simply relaxing

  • Makeup - defined to turn on all lights in a bathroom, with 100% brightness and 5000K color temperature for make up mode.

When an activity is triggered, the automation stops working in the room and the light status will remain as is defined in the activity, until the duration is complete or until someone turns them back to Automation. You will have to turn the light status back to Automation (see the QA below “How do you turn the light status back to Automation?”) if you want to end the Activity status.

Q: How do you create a new Activity?

A: Open the App, and please follow these steps.

  1. HOMMA App > Activities tab (right of 3 tabs at the bottom)

  2. Tap ‘+’ on the top right

  3. Follow the rest of steps on App and ‘Save’

Q: How do you edit/delete the default Activity lighting?

A: Open the App, and please follow these steps.

  1. HOMMA App > Activities tab (right of 3 tabs at the bottom)

  2. Long Press the specific Activity

  3. Tap ‘Edit’ or ‘Delete,’ and follow the rest of the steps on App

Q: How do you turn the light status back to Automation?

A: All you have to do is to do either one of below.

  1. HOMMA Control Pad on the wall: Press the ‘Auto’ on the top right of the and confirm that it shows green line

  2. HOMMA App: Tap the icon with ‘orange line with circle arrow,’ it will turn to ‘green line’ which is Automation ON

Window Shade Control

Q: Can I control the window shades with HOMMA App?

A: For now, it is a motorized shade that can be controlled only by remote control. (Control and automation of the shades via the app will be enabled in early ‘24 )
